BLESSED Mark BARKWORTH OSB was born in the County of Lincolnshire and studied at Oxford University. After his conversion to the CathoIic Faith, he studied in Rome and at the Royal College of St. Alban in VALLADOLID. Condemned to death for being priest, he was drawn, hung and quartered at Tyburn (London) 27 of February of 1601.

He was beatified by Pope Pius IX on the 15th of December 1929.
